Yesterday, school started. In ways this is good, others, it is bad. I am now a senior. It feels no different, we are not special in any way, we just get to take cool classes like AP Calculus. Shiver. I got Jeremy's old book, I hope I can live up to his legacy. I am also one of three students responsible for putting together the yearbook this year. I am afraid that things might fall apart ever so slightly. I am also unsure as to our advisor (homeroom teacher person) because he doesn't do anything until after the bell has rung for us to go to our classes, and so Andry and I didn't get our scedules because a certain irate physics teacher wanted all his students in class imediately.
It has also been raining. To all you non Arab/arab afeliated types out there, in Yemen, this is viewed as a good thing, a blessing, because it happens so infrequently, and the land needs it so badly. It looks like it might even rain twice today! Once before school this morning, and the skies are gray and it smells like rain again now.

yay for the smell of rain. I love that smell. the rainy season just ended here--yes, Kunming has much the same climate as sana'a-except that sadly it gets much colder in the winter. well, contrats on being a senior. . .AP physics is SUCH fun. oh wait, I've never taken physics. . .hmm. . .except for that astronomy course in college. The professor tried to cram it into my mind. And I got a B, so I guess he got it in there pretty well.
dude it has been raining all the time here recently. I dunno if it is normal for summer in Yemen or what, but I think it has been raining almost every day for like a month. I'm not actually terribly glad about it because it always seems to have a thing about raining when i want to get on the computer, and my mom won't let me get on when it is thundering. Anyways, good luck with Calculus!
who is your advisor? and why is the physics teacher irate? what do other people think of him? (Did mr blackie give a ridiculous welcome speech? did they do that "meet the teachers thing?"

Isn't calculus awesome in it's complete difference from Ad. Math II? You have taken the step out of high school math and into the math present. Or at least, taken one step towards the math of the present. If I might make one suggestion, it would be to MEMORIZE RIGHT NOW all of the differentiation things, especially for the trig. identies. (Yes, I do mean right now, go, go, memorize them!) Unless you haven't gotten to them yet. In which case, wait until you do and then MEMORIZE them then.
oops, i just realized that from somewhere in my mind i pulled up AP physics. . .my bad. Calculus. . .i've never taken that either. woot!
It rained three times here. That was cool, as I have no restrictions on the computer, provided I am not astronomically dumb. All I have had with calc is an explanation of where I am and what I am about to do, so we should start limits tomorow... My advisor is Mr. George. He is English. Dad is my Physics teacher, and I was late.

Not only will you survive calculus, you will thrive on it. The bizarre intricacies of it all will move you to tears at points. This is something that you will like.

mmmm. well, I have yet to have him actually teach anything of any significance yet, (today we discused the SI. (surely u r aquanted with it...)) but it appears that we will be getting a constant stream of hw. AP lit is really hard.
